Events, posters & tickets

Event QR code you can update after the posters print

An event QR is a door. Guests scan a flyer, badge, or venue sign; their phone opens a ticket page, an RSVP form, or a calendar invite. qrcode.house does not host the event. Download a free static QR when that address will never move. Unlock the same URL code for $9.99/year when the destination will.

Two encodings: a calendar invite, or a URL door

Pick the type that matches the job. The printed symbol still follows ISO/IEC 18004; billing is about whether the destination lives in that ink.

Event type (static)

Encodes a calendar payload phones can add. The title, start, and place sit in the modules — the same model as iCalendar (RFC 5545). Free, and finished. Reschedule = reprint.

URL type (can unlock)

Encodes a ticket, RSVP, map, or recap link. After unlock, the pattern opens a short link we store on your account. Edit that destination; the poster stays. Flow: how dynamic QR works.

Static is enough when the address is stable

Many “always buy dynamic” guides skip this. If you control a URL and only change the page, or the paper is disposable, a static file from Adobe Express, a DIY template export, or our free generator all work. No unlock required.

  • You own a stable event URL

If guests always open yoursite.com/open-house and you only edit that page, a free static QR stays correct. The pattern already encodes the link.

  • The print is disposable

A same-week flyer, a slide, or a one-night door list can use a free download. Reprinting is cheap when the paper is thrown away after the show.

  • You want a calendar invite in the ink

The Event type writes a calendar payload into the modules. Phones add the title, time, and place. That file is finished — change the venue and you need a new QR.

Unlock a URL code when the print has to outlast the link

After unlock, a scan hits a short link on qrcode.house and we load whatever URL you last saved. That is the product — not campaign analytics, not a ticket shop.

  • Posters go up before the link is final

Ticket pages, Luma or Eventbrite URLs, and RSVP forms often move after the print run. A short link you can retarget keeps the same art on the wall.

  • The file host mints a new address

A replaced PDF programme, a new Drive upload, or a renamed registration form gets a new URL. Static posters then open a 404.

  • The same print has a second job after the night

Point at tickets this month, then at a replay, a survey, or next season’s list. That is a destination edit, not a reprint of every flyer.

One unlocked code can cover the whole print run

If every poster, badge, and programme should open the same page, print the same file. That is one destination and — if you unlock — one $9.99/year code, not a code per poster. Add a second unlocked code only when the destination is different: a VIP list, a second city, or a guest Wi‑Fi sticker.

Bitly and QR Code Generator typically sell a monthly platform plan for a pool of dynamic codes, seats, and campaign tools. That fits a touring brand. A single night, a church fair, or a gallery opening that needs one lasting print is the per-code case — when that model wins is on dynamic QR price vs monthly SaaS. The two live prices are on the pricing page.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell tickets, take RSVPs, or host your event page. Keep those on your site or ticketing tool.
  • Unlock does not rewrite an Event-type calendar QR. To change time or venue on a baked invite, generate a new file.
  • Custom centre logos ship with a dynamic unlock; free downloads use the QRcode.house logo.

FAQ

Can I make a free QR code for an event?
Yes. Download a static PNG, JPEG, SVG, or PDF from qrcode.house with no account. Paste a ticket or RSVP URL, or use the Event type to encode a calendar invite. Free files include the QRcode.house centre mark.
Is an Event-type QR dynamic?
No. The Event type bakes a calendar payload into the pattern. Phones handle it natively. Changing the time or venue means a new file and a reprint — the same tradeoff as Adobe Express or a DIY template export.
When should I unlock $9.99/year for an event QR?
When you encode a URL and that address might move after the print is on a wall, ticket, or programme. Unlock stores the destination on your account. Edit the saved link; the printed pattern stays. Codes you never unlock stay free downloads.
Do you host tickets, RSVP forms, or the event page?
No. qrcode.house stores or encodes the door — a URL, or a calendar string. Keep the event page, ticketing tool, or form where it already lives.
