Payments, invoices & till cards
Payment QR code you can update without reprinting
A payment QR is a door. Guests scan a till card, an invoice, or a market-stall sign; their phone opens a checkout page. qrcode.house does not take the money. Download a free QR when that address will never move. Unlock the same URL code for $9.99/year when the destination will.
Stripe already gives you a payment QR
In the Dashboard, Stripe Payment Links can copy a URL or save a QR PNG. That file encodes one Payment Link. Stripe says the image does not expire, and that deactivating the link sends scanners to an expiration page. Adobe Express and a DIY template export do the same job for any checkout URL you paste: the destination sits in the modules. Use those if that exact link stays live.
On qrcode.house a payment QR is still a URL. A free URL download is already a short link — the first checkout address works and stays frozen. The printed symbol follows ISO/IEC 18004. Billing is about whether you can retarget that door after print.
Free is enough when the checkout URL is stable
Many “always buy dynamic” guides skip this. If the pay address is fixed, Stripe’s QR, a static export, or our free generator all work. No unlock required.
The checkout URL will not move
If every scan should open the same live Stripe Payment Link, PayPal.me, or /pay page, a free file stays correct. Stripe’s own Payment Link QR works the same way.
The print is disposable
A one-off invoice PDF, a same-week email image, or a weekend flyer can stay free. Reprinting is cheap when the paper is thrown away.
You only ever take payment on that one link
One processor, one product, no seasonal swap. There is nothing to retarget. Do not unlock a code you will never edit.
Unlock a URL code when the print has to outlast the link
After unlock, a scan hits a short link on qrcode.house and we load whatever URL you last saved. That is the product — not a till, not invoices, not card processing. Flow: how dynamic QR works.
You deactivate a Payment Link and mint a new one
Stripe’s QR is tied to that link. Deactivate it and scanners hit an expiration page. A short link you control can point at the next checkout URL.
The till sticker has to outlast this season’s product
New price, new SKU, a donation drive, or a switch from Stripe to PayPal or Square is a destination edit — not a new vinyl run.
The same print needs a pause or a second job
Point at checkout this month, then at a “pay at the counter” note, a waitlist, or a closed week. Unlock stores that URL on your account.
One unlocked code can cover the till
If every counter card, window vinyl, and stall sign should open the same checkout page, print the same file. That is one destination and — if you unlock — one $9.99/year code, not a code per sticker. Add a second unlocked code only when the destination is different: a second location, a review QR, or a phone sticker you also use to get paid.
Bitly and QR Code Generator typically sell a monthly platform plan for a pool of dynamic codes, seats, and campaign tools. That fits a multi-site brand. A single stall that needs one lasting pay print is the per-code case — when that model wins is on dynamic QR price vs monthly SaaS. The two live prices are on the pricing page.
People will scan this to pay — print it so it is hard to fake
A payment QR is a high-value target for overlay stickers. We do not process the payment, but the print still has to be yours. The longer guide is is this QR code safe.
- Print the code into the sign or a fixed till card. A loose sticker on an unattended post is easy to cover.
- Print the expected address next to it so people can compare the camera preview. Free URL codes preview as qrcode.house/… — that names the short-link host, not your shop, so put your name on the same card.
- Offer another way to pay: tap, cash, or a typed web address.
What we do not do
- We do not take cards, hold funds, or host checkout. Keep the payment page on Stripe, PayPal, Square, or your own site.
- We do not generate invoices or Payment Links. Create those in your processor, then paste the URL.
- Custom centre logos ship with a dynamic unlock; free downloads use the QRcode.house logo.
FAQ
- Can I make a free payment QR code?
- Yes. Paste a checkout URL on qrcode.house and download a PNG, JPEG, SVG, or PDF with no account. A free URL file is already a short link: the first destination works and stays frozen. Stripe’s Dashboard can also save a QR image for a Payment Link. Free files on qrcode.house include the house centre mark.
- Do you take the payment or store card details?
- No. A payment QR is a URL. Choose URL in the builder and paste the address people should open — usually a Stripe Payment Link, PayPal.me, Square, or a /pay page you already host. We do not process cards, and we do not host checkout.
- When should I unlock $9.99/year for a payment QR?
- When the printed till card, window vinyl, or market-stall sign has to stay correct after the checkout URL moves. Unlock stores the destination on your account. Edit the saved link; the pattern stays. Codes you never unlock stay free downloads.
- Stripe already gives me a QR — why use this?
- Use Stripe’s QR if that Payment Link stays active. Stripe documents that the image does not expire, but deactivating the link sends scanners to an expiration page. Unlock on qrcode.house when the physical print must outlast a specific Payment Link.
